Pope John Paul II
(1920-2005)
|

|
We mourn the death of Our Holy Father, John Paul
II, whose legacy of peace, love, and justice will continue to have a
positive impact on the Catholic Church, and indeed the world. We
offer our prayers for the repose of his soul and for the future of
our Church at this most difficult time.
In tribute to his memory we are privileged to
present gathered in one volume the speeches John Paul II gave during
his historic visit to the Middle East
in March 2000, when he was able to visit the places where Jesus had
lived and talked—a true pilgrimage of faith for him. In
addition to the pope’s own words are the reflections of two
important scholars, one Catholic and the other Jewish, who have been
participants in building the interfaith dialogue.
